ARCI and Raghu Vamsi Machine Tools Sign DST-Backed MoU for Advanced Engineering Solutions

New Delhi: An autonomous institute under the Department of Science and Technology (DST) has signed a strategic collaboration agreement with industry to accelerate technology development for high-performance and strategic engineering applications.

The ARCI Raghu Vamsi Machine Tools MoU backed by DST aims to enable collaborative research, development, and demonstration of advanced manufacturing and materials technologies relevant to national priorities.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI) – an autonomous research and development centre under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India – and Raghu Vamsi Machine Tools Pvt. Limited, Hyderabad.

ARCI Raghu Vamsi Machine Tools MoU: Structured Industry–R&D Collaboration Framework

The ARCI DST MoU establishes a structured framework for cooperation between the two organisations, facilitating joint efforts in technology development, product demonstration, and application-oriented research.

The collaboration also enables effective utilisation of ARCI’s specialised facilities under the Government Owned Company Operated (GOCO) model.

In addition, the partnership covers intellectual property creation, knowledge transfer, and defined mechanisms to support the transition of research outputs into industrial deployment, strengthening the pathway from laboratory innovation to real-world manufacturing applications.

Advanced Manufacturing and Surface Engineering

The scope of the ARCI Raghu Vamsi Machine Tools MoU includes advanced manufacturing and surface engineering domains such as laser-based processes, additive manufacturing, precision machining, high-performance materials processing, and associated testing and evaluation activities.

These focus areas will be pursued based on mutual interest and evolving technological requirements, with provisions to expand the scope as the collaboration progresses.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening industry – R&D linkages and enhancing indigenous technological capabilities.

By combining ARCI’s research expertise with industry-driven application and manufacturing perspectives, the collaboration aims to support the development of reliable, scalable, and industry-ready solutions aligned with India’s goals of self-reliance in advanced manufacturing and strategic technology sectors.
